Fear is the Non-Acceptance
Fear is not something to easily turn away from, it is an intuitive signal. Fear becomes unmanageable when we don’t face and accept what is happening. I think of fear as an encouragement to grow.
How I Choose to Be
A situation becomes what we decide it is. Despite the ease of having knowledge to depend on, how I accept the circumstance determines its outcome. Why waste energy on pinpointing items to blame when I can choose to adapt and work with it?
Transition of What Was
Having knowledge can give me a sense of security but it is not something that must be complete while I am still learning. Choosing to not resist what I discover in order to understand a bigger picture assists me to grow with what happens. Putting past and present together for future reference, I move from what was into what is.

To prevent myself from believing that life is against me when I meet an opposition, I pay attention to the change and concentrate on knowing myself through it. A challenge indicates something I did not consider and accepting it is my agreement to learn

Whatever is faced, I intend to meet the required self=care with appreciation rather than resignation. I respect that what happens is a contribution to my development. I've spent a lifetime striving for my physical capability and realize now that my spirit speaks louder than my body alone could ever achieve. I know that when I am physically lacking I have the choice to adapt mentally so I can appreciate and grow with the situation.
My Symbol of Self-Care
I used to be afraid of getting accused of giving up but then I realized that I can’t avoid the truth. Getting to know what is an illusion and what is real gives me the strength to embrace my reality. Choosing my wheelchair and embracing my disability is my way of loving myself and stopping the actions that deny my truth. There is more to a book beyond the cover you see.
Every Effort is Worth Trying
Accepting that change happens continuously and that I am a part of something greater, it is easier to adapt my plans and pay attention to life’s subtle guidance. Without thinking of change with a negative viewpoint, every effort to adjust is a growth opportunityI had not expected and am free to appreciate.
You Don’t Have to Know to Survive
I was taught that having knowledge and being able to recite it would prove my intelligence and assist my survival. My life doesn’t align with that and I’ve learned that a curiosity for learning and a willingness to accept not-knowing offers more discoveries and allows me to survive with the treasure I held within.
Did I Have a Concussion?
Reflecting on knowledge that wasn’t available thirty years ago and coming to terms with my truth. What happened can’t be changed and I am grateful that it never broke me. I can embrace the truth and discover where it takes me.
