Go Slow and Steady
Listening to the messages from a complex system such as the body is hard work filled with uncertainty. With what is felt mixed with past memories and a spice of current changes, how do I know what is real or correct? The truth is that I don't know. I only know that I must try my best with the intention to respect everything. I must be ready to make mistakes, accept and adapt to them and allow them to lead me to what I need to learn.
As much as I still get caught in wanting to do what other people can do, I must remember my circumstances in every decision I make. Listening to the changes in my body with every movement, I must be slow and steady to be attentive to my needs. I cannot allow myself to take steps because I think I should, I must listen to the signals and determine my safety before making my move.
I displayed quick recoveries to ward off excessive worry in my past, but now I must listen to and care for my body first. When I feel uncertain, I know I must only go when I feel ready. There is no gain in appeasing expectations if I end up harmed and uncredited for. I must only move at a pace that feels right and doesn't neglect me.
