I Hope to Find a Blossom

I climb the hills,

Hiking over branches entwined from the past.

I hold hope to find a blossom planted many years past,

Hoping to be reminded that hard work pays off.

When I reach the clearing,

Thorns and sharp wires meet my view and touch.

It takes much effort to reach you,

My love for your existence fuels me,

But the sharp disappointment leaves me questioning why I try.

They tried to meet up with their child and resolve an issue. They hoped for understanding and a loving reception but were met with resistance that stung. It took effort to reach their child, and it was love that fueled them to try. The sharp disappointment left them to question why they tried but they knew they’d never deny loving their child. Trying was loving and it was enough for the moment.
