A Indomitable Will
The greatest lesson my life taught me is that my power is rooted in the choices I make to nourish the beliefs that craft my will. Whatever I meet (even when I am physically lacking), what I choose to think, feel and do will add to my success.
Living with circumstances that took away a steady definition of my physical capacity, I drew strength from disciplining my thoughts and emotions to shape my reality. Whenever my body refuses to do what I want to do or warns me against doing it, I choose to concentrate on appreciating that I'm alive (and being kept so) to enjoy the experience.
Getting older and losing physical competence isn't a scare because I know that what I choose to think and feel will shape my reality. There's no denying what I do feel (disappointment, frustration, sadness) but I know that I prefer to concentrate on appreciating and growing from experience. I become stronger in mind and spirit every time I choose to accept what I can’t physically do and adapt mentally to appreciate what I am capable of.
