It’s Not the Load
In the adverse situations I faced living with epilepsy, I've learned that the thoughts I have and the feelings I nourish determines what the situation will mean and how it will be remembered by me. Searching for truth, I chose carefully which thoughts, feelings and actions would align with my desires. I wanted to find purpose and enjoyment in my experience. I chose to make a connection with every event so I would grow instead of letting it hold me back. It became a habit to not draw a conclusion about the situation until I knew that I had openly learned from it. Hardship became the key to a learning adventure. Adverse situations became exciting opportunities for discovery instead of something I dreaded on a daily basis.
Perspective is what we carry away from a situation and it's best to choose to nurture the perceptions that align with who we are. It wasn't the hardship of having epilepsy that I wanted to grow and carry with me. It is the belief that I am blessed to be trusted with diverse situations that makes me feel worthy and able to explore living with a neurological disease.
