In Changing Circumstances

Having lived with epilepsy, I experienced elaborate changing circumstances on a daily basis. I learned that focusing on finding something to learn is helpful to let go of undesirable reactions. I am more open to observing and working with the situation when I concentrate on what makes it matter to me. Remembering that it is an experience that I can learn from helped me to acknowledge what I felt without progressing it, accept the situation and be motivated to work with the situation. Knowing that my choices would determine what I learned gave me a reason to listen for the lessons.

Even without the elaborate changes of epilepsy, changes do happen daily. When I encounter one that catches me off-guard, I know to focus on something to learn before I decide on what I think, feel or will do.
