What I Share and Why

Perseverance Girl was launched in April 2025 and since that time, I’ve been reflecting on why I share my content on this website, a Perseverance Girl Facebook Page and a YouTube channel.

I started the Perseverance Girl website knowing that it was time to make a change and to create a new way for me to grow. Not wanting to completely drop what I had been doing with the Astrid’s Words blog, I am exploring new ways to share life blessings. On this website, I’ve divided my work into four categories: Poetry, Prose, Musing and Reflective Lyric. Each style offers a different way of expressing what I am researching in my life and sharing the inspiration I’ve picked up on.

Below are the categories and the different ways they challenge me to express myself.

Poetry

  • Way of letting my mind chatter flow while resolving issues

  • Way of condensing messages for inspiration

  • Way of working with and appreciating what Life offers

Prose

  • Way to recreate my realizations in a relatable form

  • Way of reminding myself that I’m not alone when I feel alone

  • Way of making experiences less about myself and more universal

Musing

  • Way for me to practice open honesty

  • Way of learning from what I thought to find what I haven’t thought of

  • Way of not hiding behind my work

Reflective Lyric

  • Way of expanding on my poetry skills

  • Way of relating to ordinary things and use imagination to realize something new

  • Way of coming out of myself to relate to something more

Beyond the website, my Inspirations are shared to the Perseverance Girl Facebook Page. I also share images and short videos inspired by my past work on Facebook and a YouTube channel. My overall intention is to offer a small escape from our daily lives to reflect on something different. I find that a five minute break to let the mind wander creatively is a form of self-care or meditation that we don’t credit as valuable. I’m aware of the busy schedules that people are on and want to offer small escapes that will inspire a love for living that appreciates whatever Life offers us. The artwork and videos are my way of looking at old work from a new perspective and appreciate my journey with a creative escape. New pages to share the collection of art work and videos I’ve shared on other platforms are being worked on, as well as an upcoming collection of poetry entitled Listening to Life will soon be published on Kobo.
