The Awakening Seed

The valuable seed was placed in darkness. The heavy weight of darkness pushed them down but it wriggled, determined to find light. It wanted more than what was in front of it, curious to know what lay beyond the darkness.
With determination from within its shell, the seed welcomed nourishment that seeped through. Slowly it pushed through its protective barrier to explore the darkness. Listening to a call from up above, it quietly focused and followed its lead.
Over time the heaviness of darkness became lighter and it felt hopeful that light was near. With determination and belief in its dream, it continued to gather nourishment while following the sounds from up above.
Feeling weary from months of effort, it pushed its new limb upward and was met with a sight it hadn't seen before. It had broken through the darkness and found light!
Though it found what was beyond the darkness, it knew that its journey was not yet over. To join the light it seeked, it had to continue reaching up and following the guidance to reach new heights. There was nothing it had to be but itself in every moment. As long as it remembered its journey and celebrated the surrounding light, it was a part of something greater and remained valuable.

Author’s Note: Reflecting on the beauty of awakening, I started imagining the growth process of a seed. When the plant re-enters light, its journey changes but isn't over. Whether in darkness or light, we are always listening and growing.
