Intuition and Pattern Recognition

Living in the now holds great importance for awareness but what about our consciousness of the relation to other things? It’s still possible to be present, even if you’re understanding the now as an extension of the past. It takes concentration to know where you’re headed, accept what’s new and grow with what is no longer. Sometimes, the past only requires an acknowledgement for its piece to fall into place in the current picture.

Every rule we create for ourselves serves as a guideline to keep us on the path we aim to achieve. Rules will adapt to the changes encountered and evolve as we do. Where we place our attention and what we choose to feel will determine the path. To try staying in the present is how we may want to be in our decisions, but it doesn’t mean to ignore our past or dismiss future desires. It’s a choice to not get lost and search for balance. If the practice is new, we can be sure that we’ll meet complications and get distracted.

Living in the now isn’t achieved by dismissing the past or future, it’s organizing our consciousness to focus on our outcome while accepting what is. It is necessary to drift to the past to understand our reactions or recognize repetitious issues. We can collect what we need from what we had and apply them to now. When there’s more clarification in the now, we can wander future issues to sort the options to proceed. In considering all factors and knowing how we feel, we return to the present and choose our next step.

No matter which time frame we choose to let our mind dwell in, it’s our responsibility to stay aware of where our mind is and why. It’s up to us to listen to what we’re guided to and continuously return to the present with the extra treasures we pick up from our ventures. Life is an unending journey of discovery that enriches us with our ability to explore and combine our mind and spirit.
