Buffet for the Mind

Imagine all the information in the world as food for the mind and that every time you expose your senses to new information, it's like going to the buffet to choose your food.
When you are actually at a buffet to eat, do you scout the buffet to get a feel for what you want to eat or do you know what foods to look for? Do you ever have a particular appetite to fulfill or are you out to try something new? Are there certain tastes that you avoid? Is there a food that causes you to forget your limits to simply enjoy?
Now, in your everyday life, do you tend to scout where to go and what to do before going or are you adventurous and enjoy trying new things? Are there particular activities that you'd like to accomplish or are you out to learn something new? Do you have anything you'd rather avoid? Do you have a preference that lets you enjoy and cause you to forget your limits?
In life, what we see, feel, hear and taste is like food for the mind that influences our perception. We must pay attention to what we feed our minds and be conscious of the stimulation we choose. Even when we don't choose the stimulation, it's our responsibility to know what it means to us and what we choose to do with it. Keep mindful of the stimulation within your control and choose what fits for you.
