The bear set out to find food to feed its inner hunger. The tastes desired set an expectation in its mind and its focus fueled its determination.
Reaching the lake, it settled itself at the edge to peer into the water. The liquid seemed like a veil that concealed its desire, yet offered life. In eagerness,it brought its paw to touch the lake’s surface and was disappointed when the water’s veil thickened with ripples. It could sense food within its reach but didn’t see it clearly. It stepped back from the lake to look out further in silence. Letting eagerness dissipate into patience, it watched the lake and could eventually see the natural flow of its offerings. Observations fueled the bear’s instincts and guided it to find and hunt its prey.
With patience and respect for what offered it nourishment, the bear was able to see clearly through the lake’s veil and catch food to feed it’s inner hunger. It walked on from the feeding with nourishment and an experience it could continuously grow upon in future endeavors.

Reflective Qs:
Beyond a hunger that requires food to eat, what else can experience feed?
How did eagerness and expectation affect the bear’s progress?
How did patience and respect serve the bear’s purpose?
Author’s Note: I was thinking about a need for experience when I imagined the experience of a bear hunting for food. Whether searching for knowledge or food to eat, one must be patient and stay observant of natural Life processes. Balancing thoughts and not allowing expectations to cloud our instincts helps us to determine our path and flow with the changes. We may not always receive what we imagine but we can always learn from our experience.
