It Isn’t the End
I feel like the world teaches us to be goal-oriented but if I get too caught up focusing on the goal, I end up missing what is happening. As much as my mind will create tasks to complete and have a vision of what I want, it is important that I stay open to changes so my mind can better adapt when required.
When an unexpected event occurs and I feel like accomplishment is more distant, I know that it is a sign to pay attention to what surrounds me, even if I don't yet understand. In being able to come away from my goal and observe what is, I am led to different answers and it lights a new path to what I originally sought.
I agree that it's good to have a goal in mind. It gives me motivation and a destination to reach. Once the journey has begun, it's also important to take notice of what is happening on the journey and be ready to adapt to the changes along the journey. Struggles aren't there to dim my light, struggles assist me by guiding me to notice what I otherwise would not see. A pause in an accomplishment is an opportunity to touch base with myself and appreciate the whole of the journey.
